The Elloe Stone, which 'formerly stood on waste land beside the .....Old Spalding Gate' road .......... and by 1889 had been removed to the hedge on the south side of the road, was mounted on a new base supplied by public subscription on June 22, 1911, the day of the Coronation of King George V. The stone now measures 32 inches high and 16.5 inches by 10 inches at the base. It has traces of Saxon carving on the face and sides, and originally marked the site where men of Elloe Wappentake held their Hundred Court. It is a scheduled monument.
