Full Description
The granary was built in about 1800, and was used as a seed store in the 20th century. More recently it has been a wine shop. It is a three storey brick building with a slate roof, in two sections, one fronting Craythorpe Lane, other fronting Sibsey Lane. The south section is 37 feet by 37 feet, north section 39 feet by 26 feet 6 inches. The height to the eaves is 23 feet, height to ridge of roof 40 feet. Walls 19 feet thick. The south section has Dutch gables at the east and west ends, the north section has Dutch gables at north end, with two windows inserted. There are dormer windows in the south and east side of the attic. Windows are at regular intervals in the north and east walls of the north section, and the south wall of the south section. There are ground floor doors in the north and south walls, and a hoist door on the first floor of the south wall. {1}
