DURING WORK ON AN EVALUATION AT BOSTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL A PIT WAS FOUND CONTAINING WATER-LOGGED LAYERS CONTAINING WOOD, LEATHER AND POTTERY DATING TO THE EARLY C13 TO ID C14. THE LEATHER PIECES WERE THE SOLES OF TWO SHOES. {1}{2}
