PRN 13407
DURING 1988 TWO TRIAL TRENCHES WERE EXCAVATED. ONE REVEALED A POSSIBLE MIDDEN DEPOSIT WHICH CONTAINED POTTERY AND TILE FROM C14 AND C15. THE SECOND TRENCH CONTAINED TWO FEATURES. A STEEP-SIDED LINEAR FEATURE RUNNING NORTH- SOUTH CONTAINING C13 AND C14 POTTERY. THE SECOND FEATURE, A DITCH 1.9M DEEP AND 3.5M ACROSS CONTAINED C13-C16 POTTERY, SOME OF WHICH IS PROBABLY REDEPOSITED. {1}
Trial trenches were excavated prior to development in 2005. Medieval deposits were identified including a mortar floor indicating the presence of a building. This is supported by finds of medieval brick and tile. Pottery was also recovered. {2}{3}
