Full Description
PRN 13362
DURING EXCAVATIONS IN 1990 DITCHES AND POTTERY DATING TO THE MID-LATE SAXON PERIOD WERE RECORDED. A LARGE QUANTITY OF ANIMAL BONE WAS ALSO RECOVERED. BRIQUETAGE WAS ALSO COLLECTED SUGGESTING THAT THERE WAS A SALTMAKING SITE IN THE VICINITY. {1}
IN 1995 A WATCHING BRIEF REVEALED TWO DITCHES CUT INTO THE NATURAL GRAVELS. THEY MAY BE EXTENSIONS OF THE LATE SAXON FEATURES SEEN PREVIOUSLY. {2}{3}
