DURING EXCAVATIONS AT THE JUNCTION OF WORMGATE AND FOUNTAIN LANE THE REMAINS OF A SEVENTEENTH CENTURY, OR EARLIER, TIMBER FRAMED BUILDING WERE OBSERVED. THIS BUILDING STOOD UNTIL THE 1960'S AND CONTAINED AN INTERNAL WELL. THE NECK OF A BELLARMINE JAR WAS ALSO RECOVERED. {1}
