Full Description

PRN 13324 EXCAVATIONS IN 1994 AND 1995 REVEALED THAT THE MEDIEVAL PATTERN OF LAND HOLDING ON THE SITE (SEE 13319) PERSISTED INTO THE POST MEDIEVAL PERIOD, AT WHICH TIME THE WALLS WERE REMOVED. AT THE SAME TIME THE WESTERN PROPERTY UNIT WAS ABANDONNED AND REVERTED TO FIELDS, THOUGH OCCUPATION CONTINUED ON THE EASTERN SECTION. SERIOUS FLOODING DEPOSITED SILT ACROSS THE AREA DURING THIS PERIOD, PERHAPS CAUSING THE SITE TO BE TEMPORARILY VACATED.
