Full Description

Former house, now country club. Late 18th century, with c.1900 alterations and 20th century extension. Red brick in Flemish bond, with a hipped plain tiled roof with two gable brick stacks. The buildings stands three storeys high and has a three bay front having timber dentillated and moulded cornice. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} Manor house south of the church. Late Georgian, with tripartite windows and a good doorcase hidden behind a later porch. {2} Evidence of post medieval landscaping was uncovered trial trenching in the Manor grounds. A large pond and a series of pits and a ditch were also noted. {3}{4} Post medieval deposits comprising a subsoil and two pits were encountered during a watching brief. The subsoil is probably the same landscaping layer encountered during trial trenching, and the two pits appear to be rubbish pits. These features are probably associated with the manor. {5}{6} Manor Farm Buildings (Manor House), Fishtoft. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been significant loss (greater than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within a Church and/or Manor farm group. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {7}
