PRN13209
This record includes information from PRN13256 which has now been deleted.
A late Anglo-Saxon to early medieval settlement site on an artificial (?) mound of pre-Flandrian soils (till). Marine deposits lie close to site and at the north end containing abundant cockles. The site is indicated by burnt stone including flat slabs, pottery (including Stamford ware and Thetford types), fired clay, bone, 1 lava quern fragment and iron nails/objects. The farmer said he had ploughed out 'much brickwork'. {1}
