'Windmill' recorded on the Ordnance Survey map. {1} This tower mill was built in 1859 and had four double sided patent sails. It worked until 1950, when the sails, cap and a few feet of brickwork were removed. Work continued by engine power and then electricity until 1977. Some old machinery remains. {2}{3} Howsam's Mill is a Grade II listed tower mill. It was built in red brick in 1859 and has a tapering tower of five floors.
