STAMFORD WARE FOUND BY HILARY HEALEY IN ABOUT 1972 ON THE SITE OF THE OLD PEOPLE'S BUNGALOWS IN LOWGATE LANE. {1} HILARY HEALEY PROVIDED A MORE PRECISE LOCATION AND CONFIRMED THAT THE POTTERY WAS LATE SAXON, INCLUDING STAMFORD WARE, AND THAT COCKLESHELLS WERE ALSO FOUND. {2}~
