Full Description
The site of a post-Medieval quarry and lime kiln on land to the west of Old Bolingbroke windmill, as depicted on historic mapping. The 1st and 2nd Edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series maps (published 1886 and 1905 respectively) both depict a quarry (labelled 'Old Quarry' on the 1st Edition and 'Quarry' on the 2nd Edition map) with a lime kiln to its north. The earthworks of the quarry are still visible on LIDAR imagery, preserved beneath woodland, though it is unclear if any part of the lime kiln survives. {1}{2}{3}
