Full Description

Remains of medieval ridge and furrow, to the west of Ranby Grange. The remains are visible on the Google Maps satellite imagery layer and on LiDAR data for this area as a series of faint, parallel linear earthworks, aligned on a south-west to north-east axis. {1}{2} The ridge and furrow remains in this area were confirmed in October 2025, during trial trenching conducted to inform the proposed construction of a replacement dwelling on land at Ranby Grange. Shallow furrows, all aligned on the south-west to north-east axis previously identified, were noted in all of the trenches. No associated finds were recovered from any of the furrows, however, and only a broad medieval to post-medieval date can be ascribed to them. {3}{4}
