Full Description
A lime kiln is depicted in this area to the west of Hawthorpe, on the 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey County Series map. A number of small limestone quarries are also depicted around the kiln. The site likely dates to the post-medieval period, though the kiln is labelled as an 'Old Lime Kiln' on the map, suggesting it was no longer being worked at the time of survey. {1}
