Full Description

Former post-Medieval stone quarry and lime kiln depicted on historic mapping and visible as earthworks at Authorpe Grange, Authorpe. The kiln appears to have been in use around the time of the 1st Edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map, surveyed in 1888. The 2nd Edition map of 1905 records it as an "old limekiln", suggesting it had gone out of use by this date. It is unclear if the kiln survives as earthworks within the quarry site. {1}{2}{3}
