Coupledyke Hall probably contains the core of the early manor house, but the present front is 18th century. The first mention of the Coppeldyke family at Freiston is in about 1250. The extent of the manor is not known. The dwelling house, previously dated to 1804 prior to its modernization, retained much of the original detail of the building. {1}{2}{3} The hall has been recently modernised. A little of the 18th to 19th century exterior work survives, but the interior is almost completely new. {4} A farmhouse built in the 17th century which was substantially altered in c.1804. The interior was remodelled in the 20th century. The building is rendered over the brick, with a slate roof, stone coped gables and kneelers. Coupledyke Hall was of medieval origins and the first mention of the Coppeldyke family was in 1250. {5} Coupledyke Hall, Freiston. 17th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with linked working buildings to all four sides of the yard. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. The farmhouse is the only surviving historic structure. Located within a Church and/or Manor farm group. Large modern sheds are located on the site. {6}
