Full Description
A site known as Monks Fishpond, in the grounds of Freiston Priory, was excavated by G.W. Bullivant and J.T. Murphy with assistance from some of the fifth year boys of Kitwood Secondary Boy's School, Boston. Stone walling, with handmade brick, and oak timbers were revealed. This evidence points to the pond having been filled in during the 18th century. The quantities of filling included post-medieval pottery and some glass.{1}
Fieldwalking in 1979 revealed post-medieval pottery at TF 376 438. {2}
