Full Description

A grouping of linear anomalies were recorded on land to the southwest of Gayton le Wold during a geophysical survey in 2008. These comprised a possible trackway on a north-south alignment with groups of ditch-like anomalies on either side. The eastern group appears to include the corner of a rectilinear enclosure, though this is uncertain as only a short length of the southwestern return is visible. Those to the west of the trackway all lie on a north-northwest to south-southeast alignment and appear to sit within a D-shaped enclosure, though it is unclear whether this enclosure and the ditches are contemporary. {1}
