Full Description

During archaeological monitoring and recording of groundworks on land at Plot 2, Backgate/Barrier Bank, Cowbit, a group of four shallow pits was encountered. Four relatively fresh sherds of a vessel of 10th-12th century Torksey-type ware were recovered from the fill of one pit. The similar profiles of the pits suggests that they may all be contemporary. {1}{2}
