Full Description

Trial trenching excavations on the site south of Chapel Road, Fiskteron recorded evidence for modern truncation and made ground impacting on potentially archaeological remains. A pit and a gully were recorded with comperable fills, with the gully having two sherds of Iron Age pottery within in, although due to the features cutting possible made ground it was unclear as to their original date. It was considered by the excavators that the Iron Age material may have been residual. Post-medieval or modern postholes likely making a fenceline were also recorded. {1}{2}
