Full Description

Several areas of truncated ridge and furrow were identified during geophysical survey undertaken in advance of a proposed solar farm. {1} It is likely the ridge and furrow extents into the fields to the west, and possibly to the south based on satelite photography although this is uncertain {2}. A site visit in 2015 as part of a desk based assessment recorded no evidence for the ridge and furrow visible under cropping, and while later 2015 excavations on the site did not target the ridge and furrow it was found that the archaeological horizon on the site was relatively shallow suggesting post-medieval or modern ploughing has likely damaged below ground remains. {3}{4}{5}
