Full Description

The footing for a wall, including a layer of limestone was recorded during trial trenching at 62 School Land, Silk Willoughby. Three sherds of roof tile dating to between the 13th and 16th century were recovered, suggesting a medieval date for the feature. {1}{2} It was considered during the excavation that the wall may relate to the reported medieval manor house in the immediate vicinity (MLI91049). {3}
