Full Description
A large pit which extended beyond the edges of the trench it was located within was excavated in August 2017 to the rear of the Marquis of Granby public house. A small quantity of medieval pottery was recovered with a dating range of the 12th to 15th century. The pit was interpreted as a probable quarry pit due to the size and shape. {1}{2}
