Full Description

Approximate location of three complete pots found within a ditch fill. The pots were misfired, showing spalling and breakages. The ditch within which the pots were found is of uncertain nature, and may have either been part of a clamp kiln, or a place in which hot materials were placed after firing as the colour of the deposit was considered suggestive of burning during excavation. The vessels were burnished, and of a fine sand and shell grit fabric, and is broadly a IASH5/Late La Tene II/III type dated to the Late Iron Age. {1}{2}
