Full Description
Two redeposited Roman objects were found in this area in April 1995, during trial trenching conducted to inform proposed residential development on land at the Allotment Gardens, Lincoln Road, Ruskington. Extensive 19th century quarrying seems to have destroyed archaeological deposits in this area, and no archaeological features were encountered. The recovered Roman assemblage was comprised of a single undiagnostic fragment of Roman tile, and a single worn sherd of 2nd to 3rd century Roman oxidised ware pottery. {1}{2}
