Full Description

Pottery was recovered throughout the site, both in moderate quanitities in the topsoil, and from secure deposits. A total of 82 sherds were recorded, with the earliest dating to the mid 12th to th 14th century, including unglazed roof tile. The latest dating sherds were of late 18th to mid 19th century date. Sherds relating to two individual Early Nottingham Glazed ware jugs were considered notable as they are rarely found outside of Nottingham itself. A ditch containing 12th to 13th century pottery may relate to nearby cropmarks as it is on the same alignment, but this is conjectural. {1}{2}
