Full Description
Cropmarks of a probable Neolithic long barrow, to the east of Welsdale Bottom, Donington on Bain. Visible on aerial photography taken in 2008 as a sub-oval ditched enclosure, elongated west to east and has maximum visible dimensions measuring 37.4m by 24m. The internal mound is visible as the soilmarks of a compacted surface, but the western end of the barrow enclosure is not visible. The whole area has been subjected to extensive medieval cultivation in the form of ridge and furrow, which may have levelled the earthwork elements of the barrow. {1}{2}
