Full Description
A Roman pit and ditch were identified during trial trenching on land at Moulton Chapel Road, Cowbit. Environmental sampling of the features revealed the pit contained domestic food waste, suggesting settlement in close proximity. {1}{2}
A further ditch or gully, aligned northeast-southwest, was identified during a subsequent programme of archaeological monitoring and recording on the same site. {3}{4}
