Full Description
Cropmarks of a Neolithic long barrow are visble on aerial photographs, taken of this area to the east of Cold Harbour Farm, Stenigot. The barrow takes the form of an elongated, roughly oval-shaped enclosure, defined by a single ditch measuring roughly 48m by 20.5m. It is aligned on a north-west to south-east axis, and has traces of an internal mound surviving as a compacted soilmark. It lies in close proximity to a series of rectilinear enclosures, thought to be a possible Iron Age or Roman settlement site (see MLI127004). {1}{2}{3}
