Full Description
The remains of a probable Neolithic long barrow have been noted as cropmarks on an aerial photograph taken of this area to the north-east of New Plantation in 2010. The cropmarks are faint, but seem to show a series of amorphous ditches roughly surrounding a compacted oval feature. The probable barrow has maximum visible dimensions measuring 33m by 28.5m, and is aligned along a west-north-west by east-south-east axis. The internal mound appears to be split in two halves, though this may be a product of the poor cropmarks combined with geological variation in this area. {1}
