Full Description

Site of a former school. The building is shown on both the 1886 and 1906 OS maps of Doddington in a T-shape plan form. {1}{2} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that a school was built in Doddington in 1858 at a cost of £500. It was attended in 1872 by 30 pupils, and was maintained by the lord of the manor, the rector, and a government grant. {3} The semi-detached houses to the south (MLI80520) are known collectively as 'School House', and may have been used as accommodation for the teachers. It is unclear when the school was closed and the building demolished.
