The Lumley is a public house which was originally constructed in 1878 as The Lumley Hotel. The hotel was built next to Skegness train station which opened five years prior. The building is three storeys high and constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The pitched slate roof has pedimented gables and corbel chimney stacks. {1} A single-storey northern art-deco style extension was constructed in the first half of the 20th century. The extension is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and has large vertical windows with grilles. {2}{3} The hotel was still open in June 1999 and appears in Google Strreet images of November 2008 to have been in process of conversion into a public house. The hotel had closed by November 2008 and was in process of being converted into a pub. {4}{5}
