Full Description

The Red Lion is a public house which was built as a hotel called 'Lion Hotel' in 1881, due to its proximity to the Skegness Railway Station. The L-shaped building is constructed of red brick with stoe dressings and a pitched slate roof. The building is on the corner of two streets, facing on to Roman Bank and on to Lumley Road. The corner turret was added at the beginning of the 20th century. The Red Lion public house is confined to the Roman Bank frontage. The Lumley Road side of the building was converted to residential use around the year 1984. The Lion Hotel possibly closed around this time and definitely closed by November 2008. {1}{2}
