Full Description

19th century school building. Large one/two storey building in buff brick with a sympathetic red brick extension to the east, under a gently pitched gabled pantile roof. One large stack shared by the single storey and two storey ranges. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that the school was built in 1854 at a cost of £200, and was at the time was run as a parochial school and attended by 45 pupils. {2} The school building can be seen on both the 1887 and 1905 OS maps of Coleby. {3}{4}
