Full Description

Former school. One and a half storey coursed limestone building, under a pitched gabled slate roof. Gables coped with stone. Ashlar quoins and window surrounds. Gabled porch. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory notes that the village had a neat school, erected in 1863 at cost of £200, which was supported by lady of the manor. {2} The building can be seen on the 1905 OS map of Honington. Only the single storey extension to the east appears to post-date this. {3} The school was closed at some point in the 20th century, and is now in use as a children's nursery.
