Full Description

A former 19th century hotel and public house which was named the Railway Hotel. It was probably opened around the same time as the nearby Old Leake Station (MLI13471), which was opened in 1848. The station closed to passengers in 1961 which is probably around the time that the Railway Hotel was converted into a dwelling. The two-storey building is constructed of red brick with a pitched concrete tile roof with two gable chimney stacks and a catslide roof to the rear. The front elevation has a central bricked-up doorway on the ground floor flanked by a casement window to each side. On the first floor there are two casement windows above the ground floor windows. {1}
