Full Description

19th century school building. One and a half storey brick or stone building under a steeply pitched slate roof. Ashlar window surrounds. There are several large 21st century classroom extensions on the site. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that a school house was built in the parish in 1852, paid for by the rector. By 1872, however, the building was considered inadequate to the requirements of the parish, and a new Infant School was due to be erected. It is unclear which of these phases of development the extant building represents. {2}
