MITRE LANE - FOUND DURING BUILDING WORKS. GOOD COLLECTION OF MEDIEVAL AND POST MEDIEVAL WARES, INCLUDING STAMFORD (ONE SHERD). TOYNTON AND OLD BOLINGBROKE TYPE, SIEBURG UNGLAZED STONEWARE AND GLAZED LATER STONEWARES. FISH DISH (POSSIBLY AN IMPORT), WESER SLIPWARE (GREEN AND BROWN DECORATED). DELFT, BASE OF GLASS GOBLET. TATTERSHALL TYPE LIDS, CHAFING DISH ORANGE GLAZE WITH STAMP, 'BASKET WORK' GREEN GLAZED BOWL. WESTERWALD STONEWARE AND DECORATED STONEWARE. WORKMEN REPORTED 'LAYERS OF RUSHES' AT LOWEST LEVELS - SOME 10 INS DOWN. {1}
