Full Description

Site of a former school. Both the 1888 and 1904 OS maps of Bourne show the school as a single narrow range, slightly extended to the east by 1904. {1}{2} It is possible that this building is either the National School or Infant School listed on White's 1872 Trade Directory. {3} A watching brief undertaken in 2005 on land at Bedehouse Bank found a post-medieval demolition layer 0.55m thick in the southwest corner of the site. It is possible that this represents rubble from the demolition of the school. {4}{5} The site is now occupied by modern housing.
