Full Description

Former school. Single storey T-plan yellow brick building with dressed ashlar quoins and window surrounds. Tall bell gable with bell and apparatus still extant. The street-facing gable has a plaque inscribed '1871 St Margaret's School'. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that the school was built in 1871 and was attended by around 35 pupils. {2} The school is shown in an L-plan on the 1904 OS map of Braceborough, and appears to have been extended to the east in the 20th century. {3}
