Former school. Stone building under a pitched gabled roof of slate. The building ceased to be used as a school in the latter half of the 20th century when the new primary school was built. It is currently in use as a community centre. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that the old Free School, built in 1816, was replaced by a new building constructed in 1867, which at the time was attended by 70 boys. {2}
