Full Description

Former school building. Two storey red brick building with blue brick banding, under a pitched gabled slate roof. One lateral stack. Dentil course below eaves height. A large modern single storey brick extension has been built to the south of the original school building. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that a school was 'recently' built in Lowgate. {2} A porch or small lean-to, visible on both the 1888 and 1905 OS maps, appears to have previously existed to the west of the school building, though this has since been demolished. {3}{4}
