Full Description

Former reading room and Mission hall at Holbeach Bank, likely constructed at some point in the mid 19th century. The building is labelled as a Mission Room on the 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey County Series map, where it is shown as a shown as an east to west aligned rectangular structure, with an outshot on the northern side. The building was converted to use as a private residence in 2010. Photographs taken in 2009, shortly before the conversion, show the building to have been in a ruinous and overgrown condition at that time. The only surviving historical part of the building appears to be the western end, with the eastern end having been replaced with early to mid 20th century brick and corrugated metal rooms. These were removed as part of the 2010 conversion, with new brick extensions built in their place, and the surviving historical part being kept and repaired. {1}{2}
