19th century school buildings. Two storey cross-wing L-plan red brick building in English Bond, under steeply pitched roofs of slate. The school bell and its apparatus still sits within its bell-gable, with a dedication plaque or datestone beneath. The street-facing elevation of the north-south aligned range is supported by three two-tiered brick gables. At least two classrooms have been added to the rear of the school building in the 20th or 21st centuries. {1} White's 1856 Trade Directory notes the presence of a school in the parish. {2}
