Full Description

Former school. Single storey L-plan buff brick building in Flemish Bond. Hood moulds above the window openings. Significant modern alteration, including the extension of the northwest end of the northwest-southeast aligned range to allow for a garage, and the replacement of the roof. An earlier dentil course at former eaves height is partially hidden by the new roof overhang. {1} White's 1856 Trade Directory notes that a school in the village was supported by Lady Mary Hamilton. It is unclear when the school was erected or when it was closed. {2}
