Full Description
The Volunteer Inn was a former 19th century public house which was licensed in 1875 and closed around the year 2000. During the late 19th and early 20th century sailors would call at the Volunteer Inn. There were two rooms, the larger of the two was used by crew of the Merchant Navy while the smaller one was used by captains and officers. In 1953 the interior was described as having a bar which was a replica of the bows of a ship. The public house was converted into 3 separate dwelling around 2013. The dwellings have a hipped roof with concrete lapped tiles and ridge chimneying. White uPVC windows to ground and first floor. {1}
