The schoolmaster's house is a single range, two storey brick building in English Bond, under a hipped slate roof. Two ridge stacks. New classroom buildings were added to the school in the late 20th century, and a new hall added to the rear in 1999. {1}{2}{3} White's 1856 Trade Directory states that the school was built in 1841, and was endowed with an acre of land. A job advertisement for a schoolmaster and schoolmistress in the same year offered the use of a house with half an acre of garden and a salary of £35 for the first two years. The 1905 OS map of Mareham le Fen shows the school building in a T-shape plan form, and the house with its garden to the southeast. {4}{5}{6}
