Full Description

Former school. Two storey rendered and colourwashed brick building under a pitched gabled tile roof. One ridge stack. The building shows significant signs of 20th century alteration, including a flat roofed dormer extension with a single storey pitched roof extension below, adjacent to the original gabled porch. A second gabled porch has been added to the south elevation to provide symmetry. There is also a small extension to the north. {1}{2} White's 1872 Trade Directory states that the school educated children from Lusby and Asgarby parishes, and was at the time attended by roughly 35 children of both sexes. {3} The school was closed in 1962 due to poor attendance, with only 15 pupils on roll, and the inability of the governers to find a new headteacher after the retirement of the incumbent. {4}
