Full Description

Former school and schoolmaster's house. The school building is a T-plan one and a half or two storey brick building under a pitched gabled roof of slate. The schoolmaster's house is a two storey red brick house in English Garden Wall Bond, under a pitched gabled pantile roof. Two gable stacks. A modern flat roofed extension has been added to the north elevation. {1}{2} The Free School in the village was originally founded in 1713, with a house for the teacher attached. It was rebuilt in 1870, at a cost of £200, and was attended in 1872 by 50 pupils. {3} It is unclear when the building ceased to be used as a school.
