Full Description
Former Wesleyan Chapel and parochial school, now demolished. The site now part of the garden of a modern house. {1}
White’s 1872 Trade Directory states that the Wesleyan chapel, built in 1834, was converted into a parochial school around 1860 and was subsequently 'enlarged to meet the requirements of the Elementary Education Act 1870'. {2}
The building can be seen on the 1905 OS map in a long rectangular shape plan, with a porch facing the street. It is marked as a school. {3}
It is unclear when the school closed and the building was demolished.
